These terms cover the Taskbar Colony game and the taskbarcolony.com website ("we", "us"). By using either, you agree to them. They are short and written to be read.

The game

• Taskbar Colony is sold through Steam. Your purchase, refunds, and account are governed by the Steam Subscriber Agreement and Valve's refund policy.
• Your purchase gives you a personal, non-transferable license to install and play the game on your own devices. It does not transfer ownership of the game or its contents to you.
• The game runs as a desktop overlay. You are responsible for deciding where you run it (for example, not during a live presentation, unless you want a space colony in your presentation).

Workshop flags and player content

• You can publish colony flags you make to the Steam Workshop. Your flags remain yours. By publishing, you grant Valve the license described in the Steam Workshop legal agreement, and you grant us permission to display your flag inside the game to players who subscribe to it.
• Only publish flags you have the rights to. No stolen art, no trademarks you do not own, and nothing that breaks the Steam community guidelines. Valve and we can remove flags that do.

What you may not do

• Extract, rip, redistribute, or resell the game's art, audio, or other assets. Parts of the artwork are licensed to us by their creators and are not ours (or yours) to give away.
• Rehost, resell, or bundle the game itself outside of Steam.
• Use the game or site for anything unlawful, or attempt to disrupt or gain unauthorized access to the website.

This website

The site is provided for information about the game. We try to keep it accurate, but content (including prices and release information) can change and is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind.

No warranty, limited liability

The game and the website are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranty of any kind, express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the game or the site. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under the consumer protection laws of your country that cannot be waived by contract. The colonists are also provided as is: they wander where they want to.

Intellectual property

The Taskbar Colony name, logo, and site content are owned by us or licensed to us. Streaming, recording, and making videos or screenshots of the game is welcome and encouraged, monetized or not.

Changes

If these terms change, the new version will be posted on this page with an updated date at the top. Continuing to use the game or site after a change means you accept the new terms.
